KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia fell 3-2 to a weakened Australian side in a hockey friendly in Perth on Tuesday.

Bhubaneshwar: With their tournament on the line, Hyderabad Toofans registered a narrow 3-2 victory against HIL GC in their last league stage match of the Men’s Hero Hockey India League (HIL) at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium on Tuesday. Zachary Wallace, Amandeep Lakra and Shilanand Lakra were on target for Hyderabad, while Kane Russell scored a brace for HIL GC.

Jeetpal (23’) and Vivek Sagar Prasad (38") scored for Soorma as they secured three points and moved to sixth place in the table.



Bhubaneswar: In Match 26 of the Men’s Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2025-26 season at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium, JSW Soorma Hockey Club delivered a stunning performance to beat league leaders Vedanta Kalinga Lancers 2-1. Playing in their final league match, the table-topping Lancers were unable to break down a resilient Soorma side, whose composure kept their slim playoff aspirations alive. Victor Wegnez was named Player of the Match for his magnificent work rate in both attack and defense.



Toofans edges past GC to climb third; Soorma ends Lancers’ unbeaten run

Even as the two teams were tied on 11 points after finishing their engagements, Toofans’ third win helped it leapfrog HILGC on a better goal difference behind second-placed Ranchi Royals, who are also on 11 with one match to go.

In a must-win match, Hyderabad Toofans maintained its composure and structure well to post a slim 3-2 win over HIL Governing Council (GC) in their last round robin league match in the Hockey India League at the Kalinga Stadium here on Tuesday.
