South African men’s hockey team co-captain Sam Mvimbi stressed the importance of a strong start in Friday's second and final international against the Netherlands, after the visiting Olympic and Pro League champions put five past the hosts in the opening match at a packed Hartleyvale Stadium in Cape Town on Wednesday night.     



Game 2 in Valencia sees Scotland women lose to Spain



Spain came out on top against Scotland women in the second game of a three-match test series with a 5-2 victory. The result follows a 1-1 draw in the opening match with the third game set to play tomorrow morning in Valencia.

Schedule Revealed for USMNT’s 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier



ISMAILIA, Egypt – In just over a month, the U.S. Men’s National Team will set out on their biggest challenge of the year – the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier in Ismailia, Egypt. From March 1 to 7, the Suez Canal Authority Hockey Stadium will play host to this qualifying event, which will feature eight teams, and the International Hockey Federation has officially released the schedule.

Bhubaneswar: JSW Soorma Hockey Club registered a 6–1 victory against the SG Pipers in the final Men’s Hero Hockey India League (HIL) group stage match. Needing a seven-goal win to seal their spot in Qualifier 2, Soorma made a high-intensity start, led by Jeremy Hayward’s (2’, 7’, 34’, 45’) thunderous drag flicks and a counter-attacking strike from Lucas Martinez (11’). Nicolas Keenan (47’) later helped Soorma move into touching distance of qualification in the final quarter but the SG Pipers held on in the dying minutes to break Soorma’s hopes of advancing to the Qualifiers.

Soorma, needing a win by seven clear goals to displace HIL GC from the fourth spot, were tied with Hyderabad Toofans and HIL GC on 11 points but finished agonisingly fifth.
