Curtain Falls on Pro League Action in Ireland and Argentina



The Irish leg of the FIH Hockey Pro League came to a close with tightly contested battles. England and Belgium renewed their rivalry in the men’s competition, while England’s women edged hosts Ireland in a hard-fought encounter played in front of a passionate home crowd.

Sunday, December 14 – Dublin: The FIH Hockey Pro League drew to a close today, bringing an end to an exceptional six days of International hockey on home soil.

England finished their four match leg of the FIH Pro League in Dublin with a 3-2 defeat by Belgium.

Dublin: The Ireland Women’s Hockey Team came up short against England despite another huge effort from the team, and support from the sidelines. England led early on, before adding a second in the final quarter. Caoimhe Perdue pulled a goal back from a penalty corner. Ireland pushed until the final whistle but couldn’t find a way to breach the English defence.

Nkosi Cup 2025 | Day Three



Day Three of the Nkosi Cup 2025 delivered decisive moments, dramatic finishes and statement performances as the group stages reached their conclusion. There were battles for top spot, Semi-Final places confirmed, and individual brilliance on display as the tournament moved firmly into its business end.

A youthful Namibian women’s indoor hockey team made a strong start to the Nkosi Cup tournament in Cape Town by winning their opening two matches over the weekend.

The Netherlands sealed their third consecutive world title at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup, triumphing in Santiago, Chile after defeating Argentina in the final, to reaffirm their historical dominance in the category. Namibia 24th at Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup

Namibia finished 24th at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile on Saturday after losing their final play-off match 2-1 to Zimbabwe.

Grassroots NGOS Reward The Hockey Team Of St. Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School

The Francis and Fidelia Ibhawoh Foundation and CSED (Community Sports and Educational Development) Initiative recently rewarded the hockey players of St. Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School Benin City with cash gifts. The hockey team of the school won a silver medal for Edo State during the National Youth Games that was held in Asaba in July 2025.

Second-Half Surges and Shootout Drama Define Pro League Action



A packed day of FIH Pro League action delivered second-half dominance, milestone moments and late drama across four contrasting contests in the men’s and women’s competitions. The England men produced a commanding response against Germany, while Belgium and Argentina showed their composure in tight encounters that tested patience and nerve.

Dublin: Another full-house at the Sport Ireland Campus raised the proverbial roof for a close encounter between Ireland and Belgium in the FIH Hockey Pro League, with England also beating Germany in another display of world-class hockey.

IRELAND 1 – 2 BELGIUM



Ireland almost staged a comeback against World #3 Belgium in the FIH Hockey Pro League in Dublin. Having trailed 2-0 at the break to two penalty corners in the opening quarter, Ireland pulled a goal back through Sarah Torrans in the third quarter. But Ireland couldn’t get the goal needed in the closing stages to force another shootout, and Belgium secured their fourth win of four in Dublin.

First the Wolves couldn’t withstand the scoring prowess of No. 6 South Africa, as they dropped their first contest, 6-1. Next, USA fought to come back, but a late goal put No. 18 New Zealand ahead 3-2.

The inaugural Challenger Trophy has found a home in Scotland after 4-3 shootout victory saw the Scots defeat Chile in Santiago at the Women’s Junior World Cup. The game ended 1-1 in the evening in Santiago before the dramatic shootout.
