Kookaburras squad unveiled for 2026 FIH Pro League Block 1 in Hobart



Hockey Australia is proud to announce the Kookaburras squad selected for Block 1 of the FIH Pro League, with Australia set to host Germany and Pakistan in Hobart from 10–15 February 2026.

New Delhi: For Aditya Arjun Lalage, the journey from the grounds of Pune’s Krida Prabodhini to the international hockey stage has been defined by hard work. Aditya made his senior debut against Germany in the 2024 Test series, and after spending the last two years sharpening his skills, he is ready to reclaim his spot. Now selected for the 33-member Senior Men National Coaching Camp in Rourkela, Aditya is looking forward to a strong comeback ahead of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26.



Men’s 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier Roster Named



ISMAILIA, Egypt – U.S. Men’s National Team Head Coach Allan Law has officially named the squad set to take on the program’s biggest task of the year at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier. Scheduled for March 1 to 7 at Suez Canal Authority Hockey Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, the Wolves will be chasing history as they aim to secure USA’s first-ever men’s World Cup qualification.

Open/ Men's England Hockey League

Exeter University extended their lead at the top of Open/Mens Division One South after a 2-0 win over Havant. They were helped by the teams just below them going into Saturday’s matches both losing. Second placed Guildford let a 4-2 lead slip at Old Loughtonians whose new signing Ali Shan hit the decisive goal in a 5-4 win. Third placed Sevenoaks went down 3-0 at Teddington for whom Kyle White scored twice. The victors both move to the fringes of the title race. Bottom of the table Surbiton 2s earned their third point, drawing 2-2 with Indian Gymkhana. Two Mathew Ming goals saw Richmond beat Canterbury 2-1 and extend the gap between themselves and the Kent side in eighth to four points. 



Watsonians the Scottish women’s indoor champs once more



Scottish EHL-representatives Watsonians swept to their national indoor title with a resounding 8-1 win over Clydesdale Western to win the final last weekend.

New EuroHockey Institute media officer programme open for nominations



The first EuroHockey Media Officer programme is now open for nominations with the goal of equipping an aspiring media officer with the skills and practical knowledge needed to manage press operations and media engagement at hockey events across Europe.

Savita blames poor fitness for below-par show in 2025, but confident of qualifying for Hockey World Cup

After finishing a historic fourth at the Tokyo Olympics, the Indian women’s hockey team failed to sustain the momentum, and 2025 saw it finish last in the FIH Pro League with 10 points from 16 matches, leading to its relegation to the FIH Nations Cup.



Veteran goalkeeper Savita Punia has blamed “poor fitness” as the reason behind the Indian women’s hockey team’s below-par showing last year, but with Sjoerd Marijne back as chief coach, she exuded confidence of qualifying for this year’s World Cup through next month’s qualifiers in Hyderabad.



Frances Lonergan retires from international hockey 



Frances Lonergan has announced her retirement from international hockey. Lonergan, a winner of the International Player of the Year award at the Scottish Hockey Awards, was part of the Scotland squads that competed at Nations Cup in Chile and won the EuroHockey Qualifier tournament in Glasgow.
