Two evenly matched sides from the Southside of Dublin were almost inseparable in this tie at Wesley College. A scoreless first half was followed by a scoreless third quarter. As the game wound down and seemed to be heading for a penalty shoot-out with only two minutes left on the clock Grant Glutz popped up from open play to finish to the net in the 68th minute, to grab the only goal of the game. Three  Rock Rovers bow out and YMCA continue an impressive run which has now taken them into the final four of the Champions Trophy next weekend in Banbridge on a scoreline of YMCA 1 Three Rock Rovers 0.

Team Canada to attend the 30th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup

Men’s National Team returns to Malaysia for spring Competition



Field Hockey Canada is excited to announce the Men’s National Team roster bound for Ipoh, Malaysia for the 30th iteration of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. Canada last attended the tournament in 2019. The iconic Malysian tournament will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a great field of teams in 2024.

As a cub, he showed signs that would one day make him a Speedy Tiger. Selvaraju Sandrakasi kept the promise. Voted “Most Talented Player” in the U-19 Malaysian League, he made the junior national side and eventually became a full international, representing his country with aplomb.



Dutch players Retire

Two women's hockey players from Netherlands Eva de Goede (Drummond) and Margot van Geffen announced their retirements from international hockey, a few months ago Lidewij Welten retired from the women's national hockey team of Netherlands.

Lidewij Welten and Eva de Goede both from Netherlands and  Rechelle Hawke from Australia have joined a selected band of players who were three times Olympic Champions. Margot van Geffen won two gold medals in the Olympic Games.

Eva de Goede made her debut in senior women's international hockey in 2006.

‘Never doubted my abilities to come back into the national setup’, says Indian Team forward Preeti Dubey

New Delhi: Preeti Dubey, the dynamic forward, was named in the 33-member Indian Women’s Hockey Team that is currently training at SAI Bangalore. The 60-member assessment squad that reported to camp on 1st April was spruced up after selection trials that were held on the 6th and 7th of April 2024.



Mulder & Pasarakonda Appointed Interim U.S. Men’s National Team Coaches



COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Jason Mulder and Aditya Pasarakonda have been appointed by USA Field Hockey as the interim coaches of the U.S. Men’s National Team and will lead the program through July 2024. This follows the resignation of Harry Singh.

KUALA LUMPUR: Two rival factions in the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) are preparing separately to send a team to the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh from May 4 to 11.

The training camp for selection of Pakistan Hockey Team for Azlan Shah Hockey Cup began at Karachi today.

EuroHockey Freestyle makes its pledge for International Hockey Day



The first EuroHockey Freestyle launched in spectacular fashion last week with over 5,500 fans marvelling at the skills of the three finalists at the Wagener Stadium, Amsterdam.

Gerson Suárez currently leads the Salvadoran Hockey Federation (FESAHOCKEY). Graduated in Business Administration, he has been linked to the national sport since 2010, initially in high-performance rowing, competing until the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, where he achieved tenth place. His foray into Salvadoran hockey began in 2015 as part of an Olympic Solidarity project, participating in Indoor Hockey during 2016.
