Pakistan hockey team not invited for Sultan Azlan Shah Cup despite finishing runners-up last year; here's why
Pakistan are yet to receive an invite for this year’s Sultan Azlan Shah Cup from the Malaysian Hockey Federation despite finishing runners-up last year due to unpaid dues owing to “some bad decisions” by the Pakistan Hockey Federation in the last edition.)
Pakistan had reached the final of the 2024 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, defeating hosts Malaysia as well as South Korea en route to the final, where they lost to Japan on penalties. PTI
The Malaysian Hockey Federation has not invited last year’s runners-up Pakistan for the Azlan Shah Cup this year in November owing to an “outstanding debt”.

LAHORE: Former hockey Olympians Manzoor-ul-Hasan Senior and Tauqir Dar have called on the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to take immediate steps to secure the national team’s participation in the upcoming Azlan Shah Cup, set to begin in Ipoh, Malaysia on November 22.

This is the second time the Odisha-born goalkeeper has been selected for the prestigious camp, having first been included in 2024. While she is yet to make her senior team debut, Kindo is determined to carry forward the hopes and dreams of her family, especially her elder brother Manoj, who was an accomplished hockey player at the national level.

2025 JHL Officials Panel Announced
