Russia excluded from upcoming FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup



Following yesterday’s recommendation by the IOC to avoid the participation of Russian athletes and officials in international competitions - in order to protect the integrity of global sports competitions and for the safety of all participants – the Executive Board (EB) of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has taken the decision to exclude Russia from the upcoming FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup scheduled from 1 to 12 April in Potchefstroom, South Africa.





EHF excludes the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials

Following yesterday’s recommendation by the IOC to avoid the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials in international competitions – in order to protect the integrity of global sports competitions and for the safety of all participants – the Executive Board (EB) of the EHF has decided to exclude the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from all EHF events for the foreseeable future.





Great Britain, England, Scotland and Wales Support Exclusion of Russia and Belarus



The boards of Great Britain Hockey, England Hockey, Scottish Hockey and Hockey Wales fully support the European Hockey Federation’s decision to exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from participating in events for the foreseeable future.

Nine new caps have been named across the men’s and women’s Black Sticks squads as New Zealand hockey builds into a busy new phase.





At 422 caps, Belgium’s John-John Dohmen Closing in on Barry Middleton’s record of 432 caps



John-John Dohmen is a vastly experienced member of the Belgium’s men hockey team. The former national team captain has been integral to Belgium’s growing stature in world hockey over the years. The 34-year-old has featured in four Olympics – 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2021 as well as in two World Cups – 2014 and 2018. At 422 international appearances, Dohmen is the most capped Belgium men’s hockey player, which tells a lot about his longevity. The attacking midfielder quite often joins his forwardline in goal-scoring acts – he has scored 28 international goals in his 17-year international career.





Comeback goals and elusive penalty corners sum up Indian women's Spanish test

If the scoreboards from India's first round of home matches at the FIH Pro League against Spain are to be believed, the women's team have performed very well, winning the first match and losing the second, both by a margin of one goal. On aggregate, both teams are tied with five goals apiece.
