Sardar Singh Indian Men’s A team coach while Deepak Thakur for the Women’s A team

Two former players are all set to enter the coaching domain, as Sardar Singh and Deepak Thakur have been named coach of the Men’s and women’s national ‘A’ Hockey teams. Hockey India today announced a list of 33 players each for the India ‘A’ Men’s and Women’s core probables group. The team for the Commonwealth Games will be selected from the Core Group.

The KZN Raiders and Western Province have won the last six interprovincial titles between them, and it was unsurprising for many that the number was about to increase to seven when the two teams met in the 2022 Indoor Hockey IPT Final at Ashton College in Ballito.

48 games of hockey were played over four days at Thomas More College to decide the champions of South African Indoor Hockey. After almost 48 hours of action the defending champions, the SPAR KZN Raiders will wear that title again after beating Western Province in the final, in a repeat of the 2020 final.
