PRETORIA, South Africa – On the fourth day, the No. 18 U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team continued their momentum with a stellar winning performance over No. 19 Argentina at the 2023 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup at Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria, South Africa. Tied 1-1 at half, USA took control in the third tallying three goals within a 3-minute span. This was matched by an exciting fourth quarter that saw Los Leones and the red, white and blue each score three for a final in favor of USA, 7-4.

PRETORIA, South Africa – On day four of the 2023 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup, the No. 12 U.S. Women’s National Indoor Team faced New Zealand at Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria, South Africa. Strong play, including a hat-trick from Hannah Miller, propelled USA to a 9-0 victory.

Load-shedding is a grim reminder of war-torn Ukraine for the country’s women players at the Indoor Hockey World Cup in Pretoria, where they remained on track to make the playoffs despite losing to the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Hockeyroos back in action in Sydney FIH Pro League return



The Hockeyroos will take to the pitch in an international match for the first time in 187 days when they face China and Germany over the next six days in the FIH Pro League at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre.

She made her International debut during the Indian Team's Tour of South Africa recently where she impressed with a total of three goals against South Africa. The team secured three victories and one draw against the home side followed by three matches against World No.1 Netherlands, against whom she scored in the first match.

UNC legend Erin Matson named new head coach of North Carolina field hockey program

Following UNC field hockey's national title win in November, former head coach Karen Shelton remarked that it was “a sad day for Carolina field hockey” due to the departure of veteran players like Erin Matson.





A 22-Year-Old Head Coach? North Carolina Didn’t Think Twice About It.

Less than three months after winning a national title as a star player, Erin Matson made the short walk—and quantum leap—from the Tar Heels’ locker room to the coaches’ office.

Two days into the job, the new coach of North Carolina field hockey walks down the stairs at the team’s facility and greets a visitor with a firm handshake, an easy smile and an offer to tour the building. An engaging guide, she points out all the features of a facility that is commensurate with the Tar Heels’ standing as the best program in the country, having won four of the last five NCAA championships. She laughs about her first contribution as head coach: buying some small trash cans for the locker room.
