The quest for Paris Olympics is on for Indian women’s hockey team
As the FIH Hockey Olympic qualifiers unfold in Ranchi, the spotlight is on the Indian women’s team, which aims to secure a spot at the Summer Games in Paris.

After narrowly missing out on a first-ever Olympic medal in Tokyo in 2021, the India women’s hockey team will hope to end the long wait in Paris later this year. They will, however, have to go through a qualification process involving eight teams in which only the top three sides will make the cut.

Hockey India appoints Herman Kruis as High Performance Director
The former Coach will assume the role of High Performance Director till September 2024
New Delhi: Hockey India on Tuesday announced the appointment of Herman Kruis as the new High Performance Director. He will assume the role till September 2024, overseeing the National Junior and Senior programs of Hockey India, including the Coaches Education Pathway among other tasks. 
Netherlands: Majority of HK Clubs Want to Continue With Women in Primetime
A majority of the big league clubs would like the trial with women’s matches at prime time – Sunday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. – to continue after the winter break. However, most clubs think it is still too early to conclude whether it is a success or not. Only SCHC is not in favour of extending the experiment after the winter break.

These are dark times for the ladies of Amsterdam. After a scoreless first weekend, coach Thomas Immink’s team was treated to a 9-0 defeat by Den Bosch in the first match on Sunday. The second matchday ended with the first points of the season after a close victory over newly promoted Ring Pass Delft (2-1). The poor results come as no surprise. “We debated whether we should withdraw.”

The Sad Story of the Deceased Claudia Schüler (1987-2023)
Claudia Schüler – the greatest Chilean hockey player of all time – was behind the bar at the 2022 world championship in the Wagener Stadium in Amsterdam. Eight months later she was dead. She was beautifully commemorated in Santiago on Wednesday evening during the opening ceremony of the 21 World Cup.
