Youthful Netherlands claim bonus point against Olympic champions Belgium
The Jeroen Delmee coaching era started in positive fashion on Friday evening as his youthful Netherlands team earned a 2-2 draw against reigning Olympic, World and FIH Hockey Pro League champions Belgium, before claiming a wonderful bonus point by comfortably winning the shoot-out on a rainy occasion at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen.

The Netherlands won the only match of the round in a thrilling shoot-out with regional rivals Belgium in the Men's International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey Pro League on home soil at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen.

The Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup, scheduled to be held in South Africa next month, has been postponed due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus variant in the country.
FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup put on hold in South Africa due to COVID
The event was set to be held from December 5 to 16 in Potchefstroom in SA. The FIH hasn’t announced an alternate window yet.

The FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup 2021, which was set to be held in Potchefstroom, South Africa from December 5, has been put on hold due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus variant in the country.

MJWC: Netherlands & Germany book quarter-final tickets on Day 3
Day 3: The Netherlands and Germany both claimed their second victories of the competition to join France in the quarter-finals of the FIH Odisha Hockey Me’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021. South Africa and Korea were also winners, while Malaysia produced a magnificent defensive display to hold Belgium to a 1-1 draw, a result that keeps both sides in contention for the knock-out phase.

Its a first in the glorious Indian hockey history. We know, like in the West, families produced top hockey players in India too. No surprise therefore we have among us many father-son combos, brother -brother duos and even brother-sister internationals. With former women hockey legend Pritamrani Siwach’s son Yasdhdeep Siwach figuring in the last two matches of the ongoing Junior World Cup, India has had its first-ever Mother-Son combo.
Pakistan hockey needs funds: Asif Bajwa
LAHORE - Pakistan Hockey Federation Secretary General Asif Bajwa has said that ranking cannot be improved without participating in international events and they need funds to take Pakistan hockey to new heights. Talking to media at Lahore Press Club on Friday, Asif Bajwa said: “Pakistan hockey has always had government patronage, which won awards and gold medals in big events and now we need same patronage and resources to excel again. We are three times Olympic champions, four times world champion as well as have won Asian Games and Champions Trophy many times.”
