KUALA LUMPUR: Australia took a step closer to the final by beating Britain 3-1 in hockey's Sultan of Johor Cup (SoJC) today.

Coming against the shock of losing to robust South Africa in a high scoring match (4-5) on Sunday, the Japan maul must act as a morale booster for Uttam Singh’s India, as they face the mighty Australians in their next outing tomorrow (Wednesday).

Indian colts bounced back from a disappointing loss against South Africa in style by dispatching Japan with a 5-1 scoreline. The Indians dominated the game with the word go and should have scored more goals but were denied by the post and some good goalkeeping.
