Malaysia, Netherlands and France earn important wins as Leones and Kookaburras play a thrilling draw



Day 4 of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup promised close contests as teams started to get a clearer picture of the results they needed to reach the targets they had set for the pool stages. Malaysia vs Chile in Pool C and France vs South Africa in Pool A were crucial contests in terms of avoiding a 4th place finish, which rules teams out of the quarterfinals contention, with all 4 teams having lost their first matches at the World Cup.

ROURKELA: Netherlands virtually sealed their quarter-finals spot in the Hockey World Cup after hammering New Zealand 4-0 at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela today.





Slick Dutch dish Black Sticks brutal reality check at men's hockey World Cup

The Black Sticks have been given a stark reality check in their second pool match at the men’s World Cup in India.

Highly fancied Netherlands trounced the Kiwis 4-0 in Rourkela on Tuesday morning (NZT), with Dutch skipper Thierry Brinkman accounting for half his team’s goals.

Australia were indebted to Blake Govers for a wonder tomahawk in a riveting 3-3 draw with Argentina in Bhubaneswar on Monday night at the Men’s World Cup.

India hockey player Hardik Singh will undergo an MRI scan on Tuesday morning in Bhubaneswar as on Sunday’s match against England the midfielder was reportedly helped off the field after he suffered a hamstring injury.

Rani Rampal scores on comeback as India thrashes South Africa 5-1 to lead 1-0 in four-match series

Returning to the side for the first time since playing against Belgium in the FIH Women’s Hockey Pro League 2021-22 last June, former captain Rani opened India’s scoring in the 12th minute on Monday night.

Super 6s Finals Day line up confirmed



The second weekend of the English  Super 6s adult championships saw the conclusion of the Premier and Division one competitions, with eight women’s and men’s teams confirming their spots at the Copper Box Arena on 29 January 2023.

After today`s round of pool matches the semi-finalists have emerged – Watsonians and Clydesdale Western have all topped their pools while Dundee Wanderers and Wildcats have come second and join them in the semi-finals.
