Dutch women dominate while German men clinch shoot-out win on FIH Inclusion and Diversity Day

It was another day of top-class action as the FIH Hockey Pro League continued in Amsterdam. Each of the day’s matches began with the respective captains joining forces to read out a special statement in celebration of the second edition of the FIH Inclusion and Diversity Day. The Dutch women produced another dominant performance to thrill the home crowd, claiming a comprehensive 4-1 victory over New Zealand to assume top spot in the tournament standings above Argentina. There was no such joy for the Dutch men, however, who started in commanding fashion but were then edged out 4-1 in a shoot-out after the match finished 1-1.

Netherlands failed to build confidence against World Champions

The Orange Men failed to fill the sold-out Wagener Stadium on Saturday to gain extra confidence against world champion Germany. The team of coach Jeroen Delmée created a lot of opportunities against the eastern neighbors, but ultimately came no further than a 1-1 draw. The Netherlands also lacked the required  killer mentality in the necessary shoot-outs, so that the bonus point in this Pro League game went to Germany.

Dutch to much for Kiwis

Amsterdam witnessed Dutch dominance as the Vantage Black Sticks Women faced off against a formidable Netherlands team. The sold-out stadium was buzzing with anticipation as the world’s number one team showcased their supremacy, ultimately securing a commanding 4-1 victory over New Zealand.
