Chennai: The fourth day of the 13th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2023, held in Chennai, witnessed four exciting matches. Hockey Karnataka, Manipur Hockey, Hockey Bengal, and Hockey Andhra Pradesh emerged victorious in their respective games on Monday at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, making a significant impact on the points table.

Manipur, however, has put everything behind it and is on course to reach the quarterfinals. With two wins from two matches, Manipur will clash with Bengal in its last group match.

Tamil Nadu kicked off its campaign at the 13th Senior National Hockey Championship at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here with a staggering 15-1 win over Assam. Forward Mareeswaran Sakthivel, though, had a relatively quiet game as he played and operated on the flanks in the system designed by coach Charles Dixon.

Indian Oil Corporation breaks new ground for Indian Women's Hockey

HISTORY: Indian women’s hockey came into prominence once they got two platforms in a short period. The first one was the inclusion of women’s hockey in the 1980 Moscow Olympics and soon later in the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games. Before that, women’s hockey only had the World Cup which was an event split between two international federations and a source of conflict that didn’t help its cause any.
