KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian women's hockey team aim to discard their "fifth in Asia" tag by gatecrashing the Hangzhou Asian Games semi-finals.

During India’s match against Pakistan in the 2014 Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, a young Mohammed Raheel sat amongst a noisy animated crowd, quietly observing and occasionally cheering every move made by the home team on the field.

African Hockey Road to Paris Qualifier Confirmed



The Paris Olympic Games are less than a year away where hockey will once again form part of the program at the tournament. Netherlands women and Belgium Men were the victors of the tournament in Tokyo in 2021 but all eyes are now on who will compete in the tournament in 2024.

After finishing 1-1 in last weekend’s Big Ten/ACC Cup, Maryland field hockey dropped one spot to No. 4 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll ahead of this weekend’s Terrapin Invitational. This year’s two-game weekend tournament will see the Terps face off against Miami (Ohio) on Friday at 5 p.m. and Yale on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

In the 2022 season, head coach Michelle Vittese guided Temple Field Hockey to its first above .500 record since 2014 and made the Big East tournament both of her first two years. Now, in year three of the Vittese era, the team is aiming for higher goals than in previous years.
