Pien Dicke propels Dutch over Leonas

Argentina men play catchup and take shootout bonus



The Dutch women capitalized on a flat start by the hosting Leonas to score three in opening half to secure a 3-1 victory. Pien Dicke had her name on the opening two goals with an assist and goal in the opening 10 minutes. A lone penalty corner through Agustina Gorzelany came before half time and despite chances, that was it for Argentina execution.

Ireland and Japan join unbeaten Spain and India in the semifinals of the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup Spain 2022



Ireland and Japan got the results they needed on the final day of pool games, with draws against Korea and Chile respectively, sealing their spots in the semifinals of the inaugural FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup. Ireland will now face India, while Japan will take on Spain, in the semifinals on 16 December.

Ireland kept their cool in the final moments of their last pool match of the Women’s FIH Hockey Nations Cup in Valencia this morning to book their spot in the semi-final on Friday. Second-half goals from Sarah Hawkshaw and Katie Mullan put Ireland two goals in front, but two goals in the last five minutes for Korea gave Ireland fans nerves going into the dying minutes.

Ireland's women squeezed into the semi-finals at the Nations Cup in Valencia despite letting slip a two-goal lead against Korea on Wednesday as they were held to a 2-2 draw.





India continues their charge against South Africa

The South African and Indian Women’s Hockey Teams met today in Spain. The two teams already knew their fate from the pool stage with India advancing to top 4 while South Africa would progress to the 5-8 bracket. The two teams last met at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in a thrilling 4-3 encounter that was shaded by India.

It was a match where the final 2-0 scoreline in favour of India would never quite tell the true story. Ranking-wise South Africa were twelve places (ranked 20th) below 8th ranked India but the ‘ranking gap’ was never a factor as the African women gave a tough fight to the Olympic fourth-placed side and clearly won many hearts in their 0-2 defeat at Estadio Betero in Valencia.

The Indian hockey team topped Pool B of the Women's FIH Nations Cup 2022 with a 2-0 victory over South Africa in Valencia, Spain on Wednesday and confirmed its place in the semi-finals.





India beat South Africa 2-0 to notch up third straight win, face Ireland in semi-finals

Deep Ekka Grace (14th minute) and Gurjit Kaur (59th) scored for India against the South Africans to end the pool B league engagement with an all-win record.

Valencia: Already through to the semi-finals, India beat South Africa 2-0 to notch up their third win on the trot and top the pool in the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup in Valencia on Wednesday.

Tata Steel to become official partner of Men's Hockey World Cup 2023

The 15th edition of the Hockey Men's World Cup will take place in Bhubaneswar-Rourkela from January 13 to January 29, 2023.

Tata Steel Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hockey India to become an Official Partner of the FIH Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 in Bhubaneswar-Rourkela. The 15th edition of the Hockey Men's World Cup will take place in Bhubaneswar-Rourkela from January 13 to January 29, 2023, a Tata Steel press release on Wednesday said.
