Argentina split the night with GB as Leonas win big, men surrender bonus point



The Argentina Leonas redeemed themselves from their loss to the Netherlands a day earlier. Three goals in the third quarter gave the home team the 3-0 victory over the Great Britain women to claim the top of the FIH Pro League leader board, though early in the season.

Great Britain's men's and women's teams are in the midst of an FIH Pro League mini tournament in Argentina as they take on both Argentina and the Netherlands in Santiago del Estero.





Fancied Netherlands Winless After Two Games



2021-22 FIH Men Pro League champions Netherlands have been ‘very unlike the Dutch team we know’ in the 2022-23 edition at Santiago del Estero. For a team that won 12 out of their 16 games in the 2021-22 Pro League and lost just one game, the Dutch have ‘surprised many; with their performances in the first two games of the 2022-23 edition. The Jereon Delmee-coached Netherlands – ranked third in the world – were handed a comprehensive 0-3 defeat by sixth ranked Great Britain.

Namibia women and Egypt men crowned champions at 1st African Hockey5s World Cup Qualifier 2022



The 1st African Hockey5s World Cup Qualifiers 2022 came to an end today in Ismailia, Egypt as Namibia won the gold medal, and along with Zambia and South Africa, qualified for the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2024 in the women’s competition, while Egypt took gold in the men’s competition and were joined by Nigeria and Kenya in qualifying for the World Cup.

NAMIBIA became the inaugural Africa Hockey 5s champions after beating Zambia 2-1 in the final in Ismailia, Egypt on Thursday.
