GB women put six past New Zealand, Australia edge GB men in shoot-outs



The penultimate day of FIH Hockey Pro League action from Christchurch saw Great Britain women and men face off against New Zealand and Australia respectively. It was the women’s teams going head-to-head first with Great Britain dominating the hosts, winning 6-1. The men’s match was an end-to-end affair, with the teams tied at 3-3 at full time. Australia won the ensuing shoot-out and took the bonus point from the encounter.

An awful start and then an even worse finish saw the Black Sticks women thrashed by Great Britain in their latest FIH Pro League hockey clash in Christchurch on Saturday.





Hockeyroos and Great Britain men edge closer to the top of the table with important wins



FIH Hockey Pro League action continued in Christchurch, New Zealand with Hockeyroos taking on Great Britain, followed by Black Sticks taking on Great Britain men. Hockeyroos avenged their loss in the reverse fixture by registering a come-from-behind 3-1 win before Great Britain men made it three wins in three using a late first half burst of 3 goals in 3 minutes to break the back of the hosts defence and won by a final scoreline of 6-1. With the wins, Australia move to within 2 points of Argentina at the top of the women’s Pro League table, while Great Britain’s unbeaten run now takes them to within 1 point of India at the top of the men’s Pro League table, with both teams having a game in hand over the current table toppers.





Brilliant Bec gives Hockeyroos payback over Great Britain



Two world class goals from Rebecca Greiner have fired the Hockeyroos to an impressive 3-1 victory against Great Britain in Christchurch this afternoon.





Great Britain too strong for Black Sticks men



There was despair in Christchurch on Friday evening as the Vantage Black Sticks men were soundly defeated by a precise Great British team six goals to one.





Great Britain men's team thrash New Zealand but women lose to Australia

Great Britain men's team thrashed New Zealand 6-1 for a third successive victory in the Pro League, but the women's side lost 3-1 to Australia.





USA victory has echoes of 2008



The USA junior women’s team stormed to a victory at the recent Junior Pan American Championship, beating their nemesis Argentina in a shoot-out following a tense and high-paced final. The result – a first win for the USA at this event since 2008 – instantly brings to mind comparisons with the USA team of 2008 that went on to lift USA to an all-time high in the rankings and a fourth-place finish at the 2014 Women’s Hockey World Cup.

Scottish Hockey has appointed Vishal Marwaha as interim Scotland U21 Men’s Head Coach until August 2023.





Play-off weekend for Europe and relegation in the Grand Finals



There’s a lot at stake in this weekend`s action – the winners will get the Grand Finals trophy and the top European spot next season. The top four teams in the men's and women's Premiership will play off in semi-finals (1v4 & 2v3 format) on Saturday and the finals on Sunday at Glasgow Green.

Lakers Hockey Club are confident of kicking off their 2023 Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) women’s Premier League on the front foot when they play their first match of the new campaign against defending champions Strathmore University Scorpions today (Saturday) from 4pm.





North Carolina Chapter of USA Field Hockey hosts the State All Star Game

North Carolina high school athletes were selected to be members of two All Star teams for an invitation only event held at the end of the high school season in November of 2022. Players from either the Independent School Athletic Association (NCSIAA) or the North Carolina Field Hockey Association (NCFHA) were eligible to be invited to play for each organization’s All Star team. 2022 marked the first time that this annual event was hosted and organized by the USA Field Hockey North Carolina State Chapter.
