Five Dar Hockey Academy Boys in Pakistan team for the Junior Asia Cup

Pakistan team for the forthcoming Junior Asia Hockey Cup in Salalah,Oman has been announced.

Since 2009, no Pakistani age group team has left the country's shores without a Dar Hockey Academy boy. The Lahore based academy recruits players from all over the country.

This Pakistan junior squad for the 9th edition of Junior Asia Hockey Cup, scheduled fromMay 23 to June 01, includes no less than five Dar HA players:

Faizan Janjua (Rawalpindi), Aqeel (Kohiwala, distrct Khanewal), Abdul Rahman (Kot Radha Kishan, district Kasur), Murtaza Yaqoob (Lahore), Sufyan (Bannu)

For goal keeper Faizan Janjua, this is his first selection for an international assignment.

A lot of credit goes to Dar Academy's goal keeping coach Waqas Butt who worked hard to polish youngster's skills.

Another academy colt Bilal Aslam (Peer Mahal, district Toba Tek Singh) is among the standbys.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is unlikely to get any financial or administrative support from the government and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) following its refusal to cooperate with the four-member committee formed to judge its performance and finalise a roadmap to free and fair elections of the federation.
