Die Danas and Dutch men triumph in London, Los Leones and Hockeyroos dominate in Antwerp



Germany’s women ensured their return to FIH Hockey Pro League action was a successful one, defeating Great Britain 1-0 in London. And while the Spanish men enjoyed the upper hand at the start of their match, it was the Dutch who eventually prevailed 3-2. Over in Antwerp, Tomas Domene scored four of Argentina’s goals in a dominant 6-1 victory over the Black Sticks. Australia then denied the home side, beating the Belgian women 2-0.

Lee Valley — GB women wore black ribbons on their shirts as well as a green and gold ribbon — the University of Nottingham colours — on their astro shoes “to represent the life” of Grace O’Malley-Kumar on Friday. In her first year at the university she had experienced the highs of BUCS gold with UoN. Having played England under-16 and 18s, the university side had also made great strides and, alongside, Grace’s fledgling career was taking shape.





Tough start to Euro tour for VBS Men



The Vantage Black Sticks men were outclassed in Antwerp overnight as they went down 1-6 to Argentina. New Zealand failed to capitalise on their opportunities and found themselves wanting on counter-attack defence.

Iglesias Alvaro completes 200 matches

In the opening match of the FIH Men's Pro League 2022-23 Netherlands defeated Spain by 3-2 at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre London, Great Britain. Iglesias Alvaro of Spain completed his 200 senior international hockey matches.

Iglesias Alvaro made his debut in senior international hockey in 2014 appeared in all the major International competitions, invitational tournaments and bilateral Test Matches.

John-John Dohmen closes in on becoming most capped international hockey player

John-John Dohmen could equal the men’s world caps record next month. The Belgian, 35, is currently on 445 international matches, according to FIH records, and should he play in all eight of Belgium‘s remaining matches he will stand alongside Teun de Nooijer’s feat of 453.





Scotland women lose through late goal to China



Scotland Women lost a very close contest with China 3-2 in the first of two test matches in Amstelveen. They meet again tomorrow to round off back-to-back series’ that has seen the Scots go toe-to-toe with two top ranked teams in the World.

New Delhi: It was a mixed result for the Indian Men's Hockey Team in their recent Europe outing where they won four out of the eight matches played over a span of two weeks in the ongoing FIH Hockey Pro League 2022-23 season. India lost 1-2 and won 5-1 against Belgium, while they lost 2-4 and won 4-4 (4-2) in the shootout against Great Britain. In the doubleheader against Argentina, India won 3-0 and 2-1, while the team lost 1-4 and 2-3 against the Netherlands.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian men's hockey team, nicknamed Speedy Tigers, will be based in Incheon, South Korea, from June 18-28 for a series of warm-up matches ahead of the Asian Champions Trophy in Chennai, India, in August.
