Title blow for GB men, USA women provide unexpected challenge for the Dutch



The GB men’s hopes of clinching the FIH Hockey Pro League title were dealt a blow when they suffered only their second defeat of the tournament, losing out 2-3 to world champions Germany in London. As a result, they’ve opened the door for the Netherlands and Belgium to potentially catch them at the top of the table. Over in Antwerp, the Belgians ensured they stayed in the hunt by beating Australia 3-1.





Valiant GB Men go down fighting 2-3 against Germany in crucial encounter



GB Men put up a valiant show against the reigning World Champions Germany but went down 2-3 in a narrowly fought contest held at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Tuesday.

NZ Men draw with Argentina, lose shootout



In a thrilling encounter in Antwerp, the Vantage Black Sticks Men displayed a much improved performance to draw 2-2 against Argentina, a dramatic improvement following their recent 6-1 defeat to the same team a couple of days earlier. However, the final result shifted to Argentina’s favor as they managed to clinch the shootout 4-2, earning the bonus point.

The Black Sticks men produced a much improved showing against Argentina, but couldn’t get the win, losing in a shootout.





Barbara Nelen achieved a significant landmark

Belgium women's hockey midfielder Barbara Nelen completed her 300 international hockey matches during the course of the match played between Australia and Belgium ended in a draw 1-1, later it was decided in Australian favour by (2-3 SO)  in Antwerp on 19 June 2023.

Barbara Nelen became only the second Belgium women's hockey player after Jill Boon who appeared in 300 and more international field hockey matches.
