Ireland will be in the Qualification groups for the 2024 Olympics next January in either China or Spain following a 1-1 draw with Italy in their final game at the EuroHockey Championships this morning. Group rivals Spain had played Scotland on Friday and surprisingly lost 2-1.

Ireland drew 1-1 with Italy in the EuroHockey Championships in Monchengladbach to top Pool C, secure fifth place and confirm progression to the 2024 Olympic qualification groups.

Monchengladbach — Germany women see themselves as a team in “development mode”, while coach Valentin Altenburg, who took over 18 months ago, admitted that he lost “a lot of strength and grey hair” at the start of last summer’s World Cup campaign, where they finished fourth.

Indian Women’s Hockey Team registers 7-1 against Japan in Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier

Oman: The Indian Women’s Hockey Team recorded a 7-1 win against Japan in Salalah, Oman, on Saturday at the Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier. For India, Mahima Choudhary (7’, 30’), Akshata Dhekale (8’), Mariana Kujur (12’), Jyoti (23’), Monika Dipi Toppo (27’), and Ajmina Kujur (30’) were on target. For Japan, Risa Nakasechi (9’) was on target.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian women's Hockey 5s team were whipped 8-1 by Thailand in the Asia Cup in Oman today.





Indian Men’s Hockey Team leaves for Men’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier

The Indian Men's Hockey Team will face Bangladesh in their opening match on 29th August



Bengaluru: The Indian Men's Hockey Team on Sunday flew to Salalah, Oman for the Men’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier, set to take place from 29th August to 2nd September. India Team has been placed in the Elite Pool along with Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, Oman, and Bangladesh. The Indian Team will open their campaign on Tuesday, 29th August, against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the Challengers Pool consists of Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Iran.





PHF 5s squad announced

The Pakistan 5s Hockey Team is set to join the 5s Hockey World Cup Qualifier Event. Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf will lead the Pakistan hockey team as the captain in the Men’s 5s Asia Cup, with Muhammad Abdullah as the vice-captain.


Secretary General PHF Haider Hussain announced the Pakistan 5s Hockey Team after President PHF Brig. (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar's final approval, based on recommendations from the National Hockey Selection Committee. The head coach of the Pakistan 5s Hockey Team for the event scheduled from August 29 to September 2 at Salalah, Oman, is 1994 World Cup gold medalist Olympian Wasim Feroze.

The Pakistan five-side hockey team includes Goalkeepers: Abdullah Ishtiaq Khan, Ali Raza; Defender: Muhammad Abdullah; Midfielders: Ehtsham Aslam, Muhammad Murtaza Yaqoob; Strikers: Arshad Liaquat, Zakriya Hayat, Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf, Abdul Rehman, and Abdul Wahab.

According to Secretary General PHF Haider Hussain, the 5s Pakistan Hockey Squad will depart from Islamabad via PIA Flight PK 131 at 10:00 AM on August 28 to participate in the 5s Hockey World Cup Qualifier event.

The 5s Asia Cup will have participation from 11 teams: Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and the host country Oman.
