India edge GB men in shoot-out after eight-goal thriller, Belgium untroubled by China



GB’s Sam Ward scored four goals but it was not enough to prevent his side from going down to India’s men as FIH Hockey Pro League action continued in London. The result was eventually decided in a shoot-out, which India claimed 4-2, after the match ended 4-4 in regulation time. Later in the day, the Belgian women continued their unbeaten record in the mini-tournament, claiming a comfortable 3-1 victory over China, who once again only really fired in the second half.





GB Men went down fighting against India in a high voltage clash



Great Britain Men went down fighting 2-4 in the shootout against India in their third match of the FIH Hockey Pro League London mini tournament held at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Saturday.

London, 3rd June 2023: The Indian Men's Hockey Team held their nerves to pull off a stellar 4-2 shootout win against Great Britain to bag the bonus point after the two teams drew 4-4 in regulation time in the FIH Hockey Pro League at the Lee Valley Stadium in London on Friday. Krishan Pathak was outstanding in his efforts to make two crucial saves in the shootout while Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Lalit Upadhyay and Abhishek scored in the shootout.

Malaysia thrash Taiwan in Junior Asia Cup

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia thrashed Taiwan 7-0 in their opening women's Junior Asia Cup (JAC) Group A match in Kakamigahara, Japan, today.

India defeated Uzbekistan 22-0 in their opening game of the tournament



New Delhi: Following a resounding 22-0 victory over Uzbekistan in their campaign opener, the Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team are all geared up to take on Malaysia in their second Pool A game of the ongoing Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to take place in Kakamigahara, Gifu Prefecture, Japan on Monday.

On the opening day of the Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup at Kawasaki Heavy Industries Hockey Stadium, Kakamigahara, Gifu, Japan, 2023, there we saw some big scores of the match have been recorded.

First, in the pool A India scored 22-0 against Uzbekistan. Forward Annu recorded a double hat trick she scored six goals, the other major contributed to the Indian team were Mumtaz Khan and Deepika who scored four goals each.

In the pool B China scored 18-0 against Indonesia. The only hat trick of the match came from Jing Zhang who scored three goals for China.

Japan scored 23-0 against Hong Kong. Four players, Mai Wakasa, Maho Ueno, Sana Hayasuke and Mei Matsunami scored hat tricks for Japan.

Hockey5s Pan American Cup 2023: Review

The Hockey5s is an exciting format of hockey where 5 Players (4 Players+ 1 goalkeeper) a side appear in the match consists of two halves of 10 minutes each. Field size 40 x 23.7 meters.

FIH is organising the inaugural Men's and Women's Hockey5s World Cups in Muscat, Oman simultaneously in January 2024.
16 Men's and 16 Women's Hockey5s teams from all 5 continents and the host Oman will be participating in the FIH Hockey5s World Cups 2024.

FIH decided to organise the Qualifiers to select 3 Men's and 3 Women's teams from all 5 continents for the FIH Hockey5s World Cups 2024.

Euro Hockey5s Championship - Men's
at Walcz, Poland, 2022.
3 qualified teams: Belgium, Netherlands and Poland
Euro Hockey5s Championship - Women's at Walcz, Poland to be held on June 28,  2023.

African Hockey5s Championship - Men's at Ismailia, Egypt, 2022
3 qualified teams: Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria
African Hockey5s Championship - Women's at Ismailia, Egypt, 2022
3 qualified teams: Namibia, South Africa and Zambia

Oceanic Hockey5s Championship - Men's and Women's events will be starting from 10 July, 2023 at Gold Coast, Australia.

Asia Hockey5s Championship - Men's and Women's event, the venue and dates are yet to be decided.

The first ever Men's and Women's Hockey5s Pan American Cup to be played at Mona Hockey Field, Kingston, Jamaica between 4 - 11 June, 2023.

The following teams are participating in the Hockey5s Pan American Championship 2023:

Pool A: Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico, United States
Pool B: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago

Women's: 9 Teams

Bangalore: The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team were greeted with rousing cheers upon their arrival in the nation on Saturday afternoon after winning the Men's Junior Asia Cup 2023 in Salalah Oman by decisively defeating traditional rivals Pakistan.  The Indian team were greeted and garlanded at Bangalore airport by officials from Hockey Karnataka, including Secretary A B Subbaiah, and a delegation from SAI STC comprised of junior hockey players from Karnataka.
